Witch doctors are using the notion that bald heads contain gold as a motivation for their clients.
The police in Mozambique has warned that bald men in the country are now possible targets of ritual killings according to a BBC report.
This is following the murder of five men in Milange District located in Zambezia Province of the East African country.
A police commander, Afonso Dias, who spoke to the BBC explained that the targeting of bald men is based on a superstition that their heads contain gold.
Findings made BBC reporter, Jose Tembe, however revealed that the notion is most likely an act of trickery used by witch doctors to motivate their clients to bring them bald heads.
Speaking at a press conference in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, Dias said, "Their motive comes from superstition and culture - the local community thinks bald individuals are rich."
