An 18-year-old has been granted bail in the sum of N100, 000 for alleged theft of N70, 000.
A teenager, Alaba Omoniyi, was arraigned before a Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, over the alleged theft of N70, 000.
The prosecutor, Insp Caleb Leranmo, told the court that the 18-year-old committed the offence on May 3 at about 2:00 pm at Oke-Iyinmi area of Ado-Ekiti.

Leranmo alleged that the accused unlawfully broke into the house of one Mrs. Alice Agwu and stole N70,000.
He said that the offence is contrary to and punishable under Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 16, Vol. 1, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The News Agency of Nigeria, (NAN) reports that the accused, however, pleaded not guilty while his counsel, Mr. Busayo Sule, applied for his bail, promising that he would not jump bail.

The accused was granted bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two responsible sureties in like sum, by the Chief Magistrate, Mr. Adesoji Adegboye.
He adjourned the case till June 16 for hearing.
