This sad old man is really worried

In his quest to have a male child and make his mother happy, Basil is now struggling to take care of his eight female children from different women.

"Dear Pulse,

My name is Basil, a 48-year-old deeply troubled man. I have been married for 15 years with five daughters from my wife, Isioma, with three other girls from my mistresses.

I can say that my quest for a male child led me into having this large number of children and I am finding it difficult taking care of all of them.

My problem started when my mother and other family members began putting pressure on me and my wife to have male children after she had our third daughter.

Typical of a woman from my part of the country, my mother was not happy that Isioma only gave birth to female children and began having issues with her.

Whenever she came to visit us, the issue of a male child always caused friction between my mother and Isioma. It got to a point I became so confused on whom to support because I was always caught in the middle of their quarrels.

My mother was on my neck to get married to another woman who will be able to give her male grandchildren.

So after our fifth daughter, I decided to try another woman outside to see if I could get a male child. I met Uzoma when I traveled to my village for Christmas about four years ago. In fact, it was my mother who introduced her to me, telling me that women in their family gave birth to male children with ease.

But after Uzoma got pregnant and gave birth to another baby girl, I knew it was not my portion to have a male child but after one year, I decided to give it another try.

But the second woman I met after Uzoma also gave birth to a girl while just last year, another woman I met also gave birth to another girl.

Presently, I have a serious problem on my hands as I find it difficult to fend for the eight girls and their mothers.

I led myself into this mess with my quest for male children ably aided by my mother. How do I get myself out of this problem?

Basil."

Dear readers, the likes of Basil believes having male children is the most important thing in life, forgetting that female children are also gifts from God. After reading his story on Morning Teaser today, what do you think he should do?
