In response to the call by the state governor to donate to victims of the Uyo church collapse, members of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly have donated N3 million to them.
Lawmakers in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly have donated the sum of N3 million to family members of the victims of the collapsed Reigners Bible Church where scores of worshipers died with many other injured.

Sittipe Mfin, a local news site in the state, reports that the lawmakers responded to calls by the state Governor, Udom Emmanuel, who called on good spirited Nigerians to support the families of the victims to ameliorate their pains.
While handing over the check to the Governor Emmanuel, the lawmakers led by the Speaker of the House, Hon. Onofiok Luke, the House members said the donation was their own way of contributing to the good cause being led by the governor.
Hon. Luke consoled the governor, members of Reigners Bible Church and the entire people of the state on the sad incident, reassuring them that it is God who keeps the state and would not sleep nor slumber.

While responding, Governor Emmanuel said the gesture from the lawmakers had strengthened him and also showed that the show of togetherness, oneness and unity at the time of calamity has made him know that God’s purpose for the lives of the people shall forever remain fulfilled.
