The incompetency of the Nigerian Football Federation nearly cost us a spot at the World Cup.
It's a shame that with all the big men in the glass house of the NFF in Abuja, none of them can do quick maths.
The men of the Nigerian Football Federation embarrassed the country when FIFA sanctioned the Super Eagles of Nigeria for fielding an ineligible player against Algeria in November and forfeit the game 3-0 to the North Africans.
The Super Eagles fielded a player that already had two yellow cards before the game against Algeria. He was ineligible to play but still found himself on the pitch for that game.
The player Abdullahi Shehu was suspended after getting two yellow cards against Swaziland and Zambia- during the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.

The Super Eagles drew the match 1-1 but thankfully it wasn't a do or die affair. The Super Eagles had qualified for the World Cup before the game against Algeria. We should be thankful that the game was meaningless. Imagine if we needed a victory against Algeria to qualify.
We would have been the laughing stock of the entire world because of the NFF's incompetence. Even though the NFF President Amaju Pinnick has apologized, heads won't roll because this is Nigeria. People don't get sacked here because they are incompetent. It's our tradition.
Hopefully going forward the NFF will be alert to this sort of thing.
