3 people were injured in the building collapse that happened in Ilorin.

A four-storey building in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state has collapsed.

The unfortunate incident happened today, Friday, August 18, 2017. The building was a hotel that was still undergoing construction before its collapse. It was located at Sulugambari road.

Although no lives were lost, three workers were injured. The workers were quickly taken to hospital for treatment.

 

No further information has been given about the incident.

In July 2017, a building in Lagos collapsed which left one person dead. According to a report by The Nation, the building situated on Lagos Island collapsed on Tuesday afternoon, July 25, 2017 with many still trapped.

It was also reported that LASEMA’s excavator is expected to ease the rescue mission with several still reportedly trapped in the collapsed.

It was reported that the building caved at about 2:30pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 shortly after the rain.

It was further reported that officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Rapid Response Squared (RRS), National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Police and other stakeholders moved to the scene to evacuate the victims.
