A drunken Zimbabwean man who wagered his wife on a bet during the Real Madrid vs Juventus match realized his mistake the hard way.
A 26-year-old Zimbabwe man, Charles Jambaya, is in tears now after he lost his 22-year-old wife, Caroline Shumba, to another man after he used her to bet in the Champions League Final match between Real Madrid and Juventus.
ZimNews reports that Jambaya who is a chronic gambler from the Mkandapi village had pledged to hand his wife to one Eugene Gumbo that if Madrid triumphed in the June 3, 2017, final, while Gumbo would pay him the sum of $500 if Juventus won.

But at the end of the match, Madrid emerged victorious after it trounced Juventus 4-1 and all hell broke loose when Gumbo demanded on collecting Jambaya's wife.
Jambaya reportedly told Gumbo to go to his house and collect his prize and when the winner got to Jambaya's house and told Caroline that he had won her in a bet, the surprised woman allegedly ran away and sought refuge at her aunt’s house.
She was said to have told her aunt what had transpired and the matter was referred to a local court presided over by Chief Mazivisa and Jambaya and Gumbo were invited to explain what happened.
When they appeared in the court, Jambaya however, said that he and Gumbo were drunk when they made the bet.
"The chief and all the elders here present, the taboo took place but we were drunk hence we were not in our pure state of mind," Jambaya explained.

While passing judgment, Chief Mazivisa fined Jambaya and Gumbo one cow each for contravening the tenets of the Unhu or Ubuntu philosophy that dictates that a person cannot be sold, neither can anyone place a human being as a bet.
