The prosecutor, Insp. George Nwosu, said that the accused stole a cell phone valued at N46,000, property of one Bukola Akanbi.
A 24-year-old applicant, Samuel Majekodumi, was on Wednesday arraigned in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly stealing a cell phone valued at N46,000.
Majekodumi of no fixed address, however, denied the charge and was admitted to bail in the sum of N20,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The prosecutor, Insp. George Nwosu, said the defendant committed the offence on April 22 at Gafar Close, Adeniji Jones, Ikeja, Lagos.
He said that the accused stole a cell phone valued at N46,000, property of one Bukola Akanbi.
Nwosu said that the accused unlawfully entered into the premises of Access Advertising Company Security post with intent to commit felony.
“The complainant was charging her phone at the security post and she left to get water.
“As the complainant was coming back, she saw the accused coming out of the security post.
“The complainant quickly entered the security post to check her phone, but discovered that it has been unplugged and stolen.
“She raised an alarm and ran after the accused who took to his heels.
“The accused was apprehended with the help of people and the phone was recovered,” he said.
The offence contravened Sections 287 and 308 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The reports that the offence attracts a jailed term of three years on conviction.
The Magistrate O.I. Raji, adjourned the case until May 10 for mention.
