A notorious homosexual who allegedly raped a 12-year-old boy to death in Niger State has confessed to the crime and is begging for forgiveness.
A 29-year-old suspected sodomist who was arrested for allegedly abducting and raping a 12-year-old boy to death in Niger State has confessed to his crime in a video captured by the state police command.
The suspect, Ahmed Mai Shayi, said to be a notorious homosexual who preys on young boys in the Kontagora community of the state, was nabbed for allegedly kidnapping the little boy identified as Aminu and raped him to death.

While parading the suspect who has been charged with kidnap, homosexuality, rape and homicide, was paraded at the state police command headquarters in Minna by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bala Elkana, and while answering questions from journalists, confessed to the crime and begged for forgiveness from the police and parents of the victim.

Speaking in Hausa during the interview, Mai Shayi said:
"I have accepted my guilt and I beg for forgiveness. It was a very wrong thing that I did and I did not know that the boy will die.
It is not true that I kidnapped him and kept him with me for two weeks. I only invited him to my house and raped him through the anus.
This is the second time I have done that. I want the police, the society, the family of the boy and God to forgive me."

DSP Elkana also ensured the general public and the victim's parent's that police will make sure the suspect is prosecuted and that justice is done.
