A pregnant woman in Zimbabwe has thrown her community into horror after she gave birth to a frog baby.
There were horror and shock in a village in Zimbabwe when a 36-year-old woman, Precious Nyathi, gave birth to a ‘frog’ baby after going into labour at eight months of her pregnancy.
Daily Mail reports that the villagers and local doctors who helped her when she went into labour, were left baffled at the strange birth with many saying it was a bad omen or a sign that the woman or her husband must have offended the gods.

Nyathi, from the village of Gokwe, in the north-west of the country, and her husband, Nomore, were ordered to born the amphibious creature which had died at the hospital to avert calamity in the village.
The 39-year-old Nomore was quoted as saying:
“I rushed home and was shocked to see a frog that my wife had delivered. At the hospital, they confirmed she went into labour but were equally shocked.”
On the strange birth, Nyathi said:
“I was expecting a child and this is what the heavens gave us. It's a hellish experience that will haunt me all my life.”

The distraught couple was said to have taken the ‘frog baby’ home from the Gokwe General Hospital because they wanted to seek advice from village elders as well as the local chief who ordered that the creature burnt.
