According to the highly influential media organization, she is the "Internet’s Newest Comic Phenom." Now that's one hell of a co-sign.
So what's the fuss about her? Well, in September 2016, she released her debut book 'I’M JUDGING YOU: The Do-Better Manual' which quickly made it to the coveted New York Times Best Seller's list.
Born in Nigeria, her family moved to Chicago, U.S.A in 1994. Luvvie Ajayi went to the same school as a certain Michelle Obama and the University of Illinois.
Describing herself as a 13-year veteran, Ajayi is the brain behind the Awesomely Luvvie blog. It's a blog that covers pop culture to random things about life with a blend of humour to it.
Her humorous and satirical style of writing have made U2 singer Bono and TV powerhouse Shonda Rhimes hail her "for her singular voice and stinging political commentary" according to the New York Times.
Also describing herself as a "professional shade thrower" Luvvie Ajayi is the first writer to speak at the new National Museum of African American History and Culture (the Black Smithsonian) to a sold-out crowd. She has also been to the White House to give a lecture on social media activism.
Her funny commentary on the world and real life issues made Luvvie Ajayi create the Red Pump Project in 2009, a "nonprofit organization that raises awareness about the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls."
Breaking down the concept of the name of her non-profit and its core idea to New York Times Ajayi says "shoes are my love language, and women love shoes. H.I.V. is a critical issue to women of colour."
