Yiman who was inaugurated by the state governor, Samuel Ortom, alongside 23 others on October 11, 2016, was remanded in prison in connection with the murder of a 50-year-old lecturer of Political Science of the  University of Mkar, Dr. Aondosoo Wilfred Tondo, in August.

Remanded with the LG boss were Kosuvenyi Kungwa and Emmanuel Nyajo, for the same offense.
