Big brands can get petty too. Google takes shots at the new iPhone 7 and Nigerian banks constantly sub themselves on Twitter.
Even with the subs going on, the World renowned Scotch whisky Johnnie Walker probably didn't think they would be at the end of some major dragging far away in Tanzania.
A tweet posted by @Chydee today, Tuesday, October 11, 2016, shows an epic clash between Johnnie Walker and Ndovu beer.
Johnnie Walker got a lovely billboard in Tanzania with the tag line "Success makes a man. Joy makes a legend." Popular Tanzanian beer Ndovu wasn't about to be upstaged by a big brand. Ndovu got a billboard very close to the Johnnie Walker billboard.

The tag line is nothing but a major slam on Johnnie Walker. "And a legend makes a great beer." Ouch! Talk about a major plan. This is a major level of shade and petty.
Ndovu got a leg up on Johnnie Walker and considering that its billboard its smaller, Ndovu pulled off a major PR move with less the money Johnnie Walker must have paid for the billboard.
If you can't kill your competition, burn them.
