The JTF has foiled an attempted kidnap, rescued a kidnap victim and apprehended the suspected kidnappers.
A kidnap attempt has reportedly been foiled by the Joint Military Operation in the Niger Delta on Friday, October 21 in it's bid to put an end to oil theft and criminal activity in the area.

A statement codenamed “Operation Delta Safe’’, issued by the Lt.-Cdr Thomas Otuji, Spokesman for the Joint Force, in Yenagoa, reveals that the release took place on Wednesday, October 19.
“On Oct.19, 2016, Operation Delta Safe gallant troops’ resilience paid off when in conjunction with the Nigeria Police and Vigilance group, rescued a kidnap victim, Chief Matron of Ughelli Central Hospital, Mrs Patience Abere.
“The victim was rescued at her residence in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State."

Otuji also said that troops foiled another kidnap attempt, trailed and arrested two of the kidnap suspects Okwugbude Community in Okpe Local Government Area, Delta State.
He explained that the suspects were on their way to kidnap another victim when they were apprehended.
