Joe Fortemose ‎Chinakwe, who got arrested by the Ogun State Police for naming his dog Buhari, is now a free man after finally meeting his bail conditions.

He was released from the Ibara Prisons, Abeokuta, on Thursday, August 25, 2016, four days after an Ota Magistrate Court granted him freedom on bail.

Trouble began for Chinakwe for him when a neighbour of his reported him to the police for naming his dog Alhaji Buhari, who he claimed was his late father.

The complainant had directed life threats at him, promising to kill the accused if he is released from police custody.

Chinakwe, in a recent comment while in custody explained that he had no intention to mock his neighbour. He had named his dog Buhari due to his admiration for Nigeria's president.
