The 60-year-old man reportedly drowned after falling into an open drainage. Calls for assistance in a bid to save him did not receive any attention.
Tragedy struck in Edo State when a 60-year-old man, named Osarobo Obayuwana, drowned after an incident of flooding at First Powerline Street, Evbuotubu Quarters in Egor Local Government.
According to Punch, Obayuwana tripped and fell while attempting to cross over an open drainage in the area.
The deceased reportedly screamed for assistance but got none. This is according to his relative, Mrs. Izekor Isoken.

She blamed the tragedy on the lack of safety measures, as the man’s death could have been prevented if the drainage was covered.
“We were all crying for help but no one came. He went to buy some food for his aged mother before he died while trying to cross over.
“If the drainage had been well done, the man would not have died. We have been abandoned with no good roads. We make payments but we do not get power supply”, Isoken said.
