The court has adjourned the case concerning the alleged wife killer, after a recent hearing held on Thursday, June 23, 2016.
A Lagos Magistrate, Oluwayemisi Adelaja,has adjourned the case of Lekan Shonde, an alleged wife killer, to July 8, 2016, two weeks after a recent hearing.
Shonde, who before his arrest resided at 3, Tiemo Street, Egbeda area of Lagos state, was accused of murdering his wife, Ronke.
During the recent hearing, Insp. Chinalu Uwadione, a prosecutor in the case told the court that he had received a copy of a legal recommendation from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPPs).
Mr. I. B. Mohammed, the counsel to the accused however mentioned that he was yet to receive a copy of the document.

If convicted guilty by the end of the case, Shonde is likely to face a death sentence, according to Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
It was at the end of the hearing that the court magistrate ordered that the accused be remanded in prison till the case resumes.
