A man who imported cocaine into Nigeria from Dubai has been sentenced to 14 years in prison.
A 31-year-old drug trafficker, Anthony Chidi Ikeaba, has been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos State, and presided over by Justice Okon Abang, after he was found guilty of importing 1.782 kg of cocaine into the country from Dubai, United Arab Emirate.

The accused was arrested by officials of the National Drug Laws and Enforcement (NDLEA), with the cocaine at the Arrival Hall of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, on April 20, 2016.
Delivering judgment in the case, Justice Abang found the convict guilty of the one-count charge of importation a prohibited substance, brought against him by the drug busting agency, after he pleaded guilty to the charge.

Justice Abang, however, ruled that the sentence would take effect from the date of the Ikeaba's arrest on April 20, 2016.
