A 25-year-old woman has been arrested in Yobe for killing her new born baby and burying him in a shallow grave.
A 25-year-old woman identified as Yakura Idi, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her eight-months-old baby boy, Mohammed, to death and going ahead to bury him in a shallow grave in the Gwange Ward of Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

During her parade at the State Police Command, the Commissioner of Police, Zannah Ibrahim, said Idi was arrested after she used a knife to kill her son and then buried his corpse in a shallow grave in her family compound.
"The remains of the baby has been exhumed and will undergo autopsy while the stained knife has been kept as an exhibit," Ibrahim said, promising that the police will get to the root of the matter as it has commenced investigations into the murder.
