#Varsity student beheads girlfriend for denying him sex

A 500-level student of Federal  of, Minna, Godwin Lawani Idoko, has appeared before a Minna Chief Magistrate , for allegedly  his girlfriend, Ramatu Isa, on January 1, 2013, for refusing him sex.
According to the charge sheet read by Chief Magistrate Moh’d Gimba Gabi, the accused was said to have committed culpable homicide offence punishable under Section 221 of the Penal Code.
Idoko was alleged to have beheaded his victim for refusing him sex after he had paid Ramatu, who sold groundnut, an agreed fee of N2000.
The father of the victim, Mohammed Isa, reported the killing of Ramatu at Bosso Police Station.
Idoko’s neighbors had earlier called the attention of a police patrol team to his strange movements, which later led to the discovery of the headless body of Ramatu in his Rafin Yasin residence.
When asked if is guilty of the charge, Idoko refused to take a plea, but  for the interpretation of Section 221, a which forced the trial judge to explain that the offence carries a death penalty if an accused person is .
After the explanation by the judge, Idoko told the court that he didn’t behead the victim, saying he merely stabbed her on the neck.
‘’I did not behead the lady. I only stab her on the neck when she refused to agree to my demand for sex after she has collected the N2000 we agreed.
‘’Instead of allowing me to make love, she forcefully held and squeezed my manhood and bit me on my palm before I stabbed her on the neck. It was at the Bosso Police Station that I was told she was beheaded,’’ Idoko told the court.
He then refused to say anything further, demanding to see his lawyer and the neighbors who reported him to the police.
The prosecutor, Inspector John Atumeyi later told the court that the matter is still being investigated, and prayed that the accused person be remanded in prison.
The Chief Magistrate Gabi assured the accused of legal representation in view of the enormity of the offence. He then adjourned the matter to March 14, 2013 for further hearing, while giving orders that Idoko be remanded in Minna Prison.
