The arrested student was identified as Adesina Adeyinka, 25. Also arrested were the purported head of the gang, Bode Kolawole, Seun Obakoya(27), Biodun Ajomale and Segun Samuel.
The gang’s latest victim, Aremu Oluwasogo Peters, 35, was kidnapped last Thursday at his residence in Ijebu North- East local government area of Ogun state, southwest, Nigeria.
He was abducted by the kidnappers at
about 8.00pm as he drove his Primeria car into his compound. Witnesses
said he must have been trailed to his residence from his business office
in Ijebu-Ode.

N25million as ransom from the family of the victim and their plan was
busted by the vigilante group as they were ready to collect the

The relieved Peter told P.M.NEWS: “Glory
be to God. It was still like a movie but it is a real thing. Before I
knew what was happening.The kidnappers pointed their gun at me,
collected my car key and immediately bundled me inside the car boot
before they drove out.
“On the journey I knew they branched at a
fuel station to fill the car tank, and continued the journey to a
destination I don’t know because they blindfolded me”.
He said on arrival at the den, he was
tortured and asked to make a call through to his family, while the gang
leader demanded for N25million ransom.
He said the gang threatened to kill him,
if the family failed to pay the ransom in the next 24 hours of his
kidnap. He said after much plea,the kidnappers reduced the ransom to
N5million.
He said it was at this stage, he spoke
with his family,asking them to sell his house and other valuables to
save his life,adding that it was later, some of the gang members told
him that,the gang leader who happened to be one of his customers
initiated the kidnapping.
While his family was making frantic efforts to raise the money,respite came his way as the vigilance service burst
the hideout and rescued him,arresting the gang members.

At the office of the Vigilante Service,
the abductors also spoke about their latest exploit. They said they kept
Peter inside his car boot and took him to a hideout at Ajobo village in
Odeda local government area of the state along Abeokuta-Ibadan road.
Peter, they said, was fed with bread, coca- cola and sachet water, for
the two days they held him.
The Public Relations Officer of the
Vigilante Service in the state, Soji Ganzallo told P.M.NEWS that the
Command acted on a tip off and without wasting much time, located the
hideout and burst the gang.
The VSO Spokesman further informed that
their findings revealed that the victim’s car was abandoned by the gang
somewhere in Ibadan, a hideout of about twenty minutes drive to the
office of Nigera and Wire Cable, in Apata axis of Ibadan,the Oyo state
capital.
The suspects have been handed over to
the state police headquarters, under the command of Commissioner of
Police, CP Ikemefuna Okoye.
