George Oliseh, who unsuccessfully disguised as a police superintendent, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command when he was found in possession of 10 bags of Indian Hemp.

Oliseh was arrested on Sunday, April 24, 2016, in Sagamu, Ogun State.

According to Punch, the suspect wore a police uniform which bore a rank and had an identity card. He was reported to have brought the bags of weeds from Owo, Ondo State, in his Toyota Camry car.

64-year-old Oliseh explained that the pressure of having to take care of 23 children and five wives forced him to engage in the drug business.

According to him, he was introduced to the business by one Inspector Umukoro, who is now late.

“It was Inspector Umukoro, an Urhobo man from Delta, who introduced the business to me, and I embraced it. I was a former corporal in the police. I joined the force in 2002, but I was dismissed in 2009.

“It was frustration and poverty that forced me into the business, because I have to take care of 23 children and five wives, though two had left.”

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali, said the suspects will be made to face the consequence of their actions if convicted.
