A 26-year-old man, Dutola Adedoyin, who allegedly stole a mobile phone worth N125,000 was on Wednesday, September 6, brought before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Akpan Ikem, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Aug. 21 at Ibiye area of Badagry.
Ikem, said the phone belonged to one Mr Bashiru Arowoshaye.
“The complainant gave the defendant the phone to keep because he was travelling, but the accused sold the phone,’’ he said
Ikem said the offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal laws of Lagos State, Nigeria 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 285 stipulates three-year jail term for the offenders.
The Magistrate, Mr Jimoh Adefioye, granted the accused N100,000 bail and a surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned until September 9 for mention.
