Yakubu and his fiancée, who were to be engaged in Akure on Sunday, were kidnapped on their way to the venue of the engagement ceremony.
Moses Yakubu, his fiancée, five friends and family members have been reportedly abducted by gunmen in Akunnu Akoko, Ondo State on just before arriving his marital engagement venue.
According to a report by Punch, it was gathered that the victims were abducted on Sunday, September 10, 2017.
Yakubu and his fiancée were to be engaged in Akure on Sunday.
The Ondo state police has also confirmed the kidnap saying the commissioner of police, Gbenga Adeyanju has led a team of policemen to rescue the victims.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Femi Joseph, said, “The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Gbenga Adeyanju, has led a team to the area to rescue the victims. They will be rescued unhurt and the perpetrators will be arrested.”
The report further revealed that the victims took off from Okene, Kogi State, for Akure in company of friends and family members, including the best man and the chief bridesmaid.
However, the fiancée and her sister were reportedly released after the abduction but the groom and four other victims are still in the den of the kidnappers.
