Oba Abdul-Kabir Adewale Shotobi

Oba Ayangburen of Ikorodu has explained that the annual Eluku festival will be restricted to certain areas of the town and not all areas as speculated.

The monarch of Ikorodu local government in Lagos State, HRM Oba Abdul-Kabir Adewale Shotobi, has advised non-indigenes to stay away from specific areas of the town as the annual Eluku festival kicks off today, Saturday, August 26, 2017.

The Ayangburen of Ikorodu, however stressed that the Eyibi/Eluku festival has a specific location and will not in anyway hinder movement within Ikorodu and its suburbs.

Oba Shotobi stressed that he embraces influx of investors and community developers into Ikorodu but non indigenes of Ikorodu are restricted from certain areas of the town as the annual ‘eluku’ festival will hold between Saturday, August 26, 2017 and Tuesday, August 29, 2017.

The monarch totally debunked and dissociated himself from an earlier statement that barred non-indigenes from entering or exiting the town between the dates of the traditional festival.
