A 90-year-old woman who has remained a virgin all her life but has trained over 50 children is being celebrated in her community.
A 90-year-old woman, Madam Agnes Udofia who has remained a virgin all her life, is to be immortalized by her community in Akwa Ibom State.
Udofia, according to Punch, hails from Ikot Udobia village in the Etinan Local Government Area of the state and has spent all her life caring for other people's children as she has neither gotten married nor experienced sexual intercourse.
It was gathered that more than 50 of the children she took care of who are now grown men and women celebrated her on Monday, June 5, 2017, at her home and gave thanks to God for preserving the life of a woman they all thought was their biological mother.

An Uyo-based businessman, Fabian Udoh who was trained by the virgin woman, stated that he was happy to be in the village to honour a woman who took care of him as a child and believed to be his biological mother.
Udoh said since he was a kid, he never saw Udofia with any man, noting that she spent her life raising other people's children.
“She has touched the lives of over 50 children. I have always known her not to have any relationship with any man.
We are proposing a foundation to immortalize her. We all came home today to celebrate her now that she is alive. It will make no meaning celebrating her after death. She gave most of us life and we must celebrate her when she is alive,” he said.
Apart from the Thanksgiving service and lavish reception organized by those she brought up, her village church, St. Pius Catholic Church also celebrated Udofia with a Thanksgiving programme.
When asked why she was never married, Udofia reportedly said while growing up, no man saw anything good in her as she was born partially blind and never had any relationship all her life.
“I was born partially blind and so, no man saw anything good in me. So, I grew up without a man. I have never slept with any man as far as my memory can carry me, not even in my dream.
I live my life the way you see me. No feeling for a man. I don’t see it as abnormal.”
Udofia said she enjoyed taking care of little children as most of them were often dropped off for her by their mothers as they went to their farmlands, markets, and streams.
“I would take care of them until they returned to take their children. I feed them and keep them happy as long as they stay with me,” she said.

She concluded that her belief is that she was created by God to live and die without a husband, child, and anything to call her own.
