A former nursing student who accused her lecturer of getting her pregnant and abandoning her has been delivered of a baby boy.

The former Nursing student of the Ogun State College of Health Technology, Ilese Ijebu, who has been locked in a paternity battle with her lecturer whom she claimed impregnated her, has been delivered of a bouncing baby boy.

Punch reports that the 28-year-old lady identified as Mosunmola, gave birth without any complications at the General Hospital, Epe, Lagos State, on Thursday, June 1, 2017.

The report did not, however, indicate whether the lecturer she claimed got her pregnant, Dr. Oluseyi Adu, was present when she gave birth following the long drawn scandal that rocked them a few months ago when she accused him of putting her in the family way and abandoning her.

Recall that the case was widely reported after Mosunmola claimed that she was coerced into the relationship by Dr. Adu after she failed his course on the condition that he would have to sleep with her because he would pass her in the course.

Dr. Adu on his part had claimed that Mosunmola seduced him into sleeping with her as they were neither lovers nor had any relationship before they began having sexual intercourse.

In the heat of the crisis, other lecturers including Dr. Adu's head of department and the provost of the college tried to mediate in the matter to no avail, leading to the case being taken before the police and the state Ministry of Justice where an agreement was reached for Dr. Adu to be paying the pregnant student a monthly allowance of N5,000.

But the short lived agreement reportedly broke down when Mosunmola presented a list of baby items which she valued at N50,000 but was turned down by the lecturer, leading to a lot of bad blood between the duo.

In confirming her new bundle of joy when a phone call was put to her, Mosunmola reportedly said:

“I gave birth to a baby boy this morning (Thursday) at the general hospital. It was a normal delivery without any complication. I started labour around 12 am (Thursday).

I first went to a herbal home but when the traditional midwives could not handle it, they took me to the general hospital around 5 am. I eventually put to bed at about 6.30 am.

The leadership of the church where I have been staying has shown me support. They brought food to me this morning. I cannot repay them for their help.

I called Adu’s family members this morning to break the news to them. I also called him and he thanked me for turning him into a star.

We were still talking when my phone battery went dead. I used someone’s phone to call him back and asked him to call me on that phone, but he refused.”

Mosunmola added that she owed hospital bills which totaled about N20,000, appealing for support from well-meaning Nigerians to offset the bills and also take care of her son.
