The accused, whose address is unknown, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, attempted murder and unlawful possession of dangerous weapons.
A 23-year-old, Adamu Idris, who is charged with conspiracy and attempted murder, was on Wednesday remanded in Ikoyi Prisons on the orders of an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
The Magistrate, Mrs A.S. Okubule, who gave the order, said Idris should be kept behind bars pending advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The accused, whose address is unknown, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, attempted murder and unlawful possession of dangerous weapons.
The prosecutor, Insp. Chinalu Uwadione told the court that the offences were committed on April 29 at about 9.00 p.m. at under the bridge at Nigerian Breweries, Iganmu near Costain Roundabout.
He alleged that Idris with another man still at large, stabbed the complainant, Musa Umoru and snatched his motorcycle.
“The accused and his accomplice had mounted Umoru’s motorcycle and when they got to Breweries , Idris brought out a two double- edged knife which he used to stab Umoru.
“Umoru was able to hold Idris and shouted for help while his accomplice zoomed off with the motorcycle,” Uwadione said.
The offences contravened Sections 230, 297 and 299 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The case has been adjourned until June 20.
