Jack who resides at Abacha Road, Mararaba, Nasarawa State, was convicted on a count charge levelled against him.
A Grade 1 Area Court, Karmo, Abuja, on Tuesday sentenced one Dennis Jack, 21, to two months imprisonment for attempt to commit an offence.
The judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, however gave him an option of N10,000 fine.
The judge warned him to desist from committing crimes, adding that the sentence would serve as deterrent to other would be offenders.
Jack who resides at Abacha Road, Mararaba, Nasarawa State, was convicted on a count charge levelled against him.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Florence Auhioboh, told the court that one Okika Anthony of STB shop, Utako market, Abuja, reported the matter at the Utako Police Station on May 6.
Auhioboh said that the complainant said on that same date, the convict criminally entered into his shop with the pretence to buy some baking ingredients.
“During police investigation, it was discovered that he came with the intention to commit an offence,’’ she said.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 95 of the Penal Code.
