A 21-year old woman is battling for her life in a Lagos hospital after she was gang-raped by five men while on her way to work at around 5.30 am.
PM Express reports that the lady was heading to a bus terminal in the Irawo area of Owode Onirin in Ikorodu, when the men suddenly attacked her, took her to a dark corner where they stripped her naked and took turns to rape her.

After the dastardly act, the hoodlums allowed her to go with a warning that they know where she lives and would come for her if she told anyone what had happened, before disappearing.
The victim was said to have returned home where she informed her parents and the incident was reported to the police who took her to the scene and she was able to identify one of the suspects, a 21-year-old man identified as Mathew Odunayo.
Odunayo was subsequently arrested and charged before the Ogba Magistrates' Court for sexual assault and unlawful penetration with others at large, under the Criminal Code.
When the charge was read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor, Isiaku Babaji reminded the court that the offence the suspect committed was a serious crime and urged the court to consider a stringent bail that will not enable him to escape in the interest of justice.

The presiding Magistrate, Mr. J.A. Abegun, however, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, but ordered that he should be remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition, while the matter was adjourned until May 19, 2017.
