Zannah said that the convict stole from the complainant one trouser, four shirts, one neck tie, two packet shirts and suits, all valued at N133, 500.
A Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Friday, sentenced a 22-year-old salesman, Michael Samuel, to two months imprisonment for stealing goods worth N133,500 from his employer.
The Judge, Mr Abubakar Sadiq, sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing.
The judge warned Samuel, a resident of Jabi Dakibiyu, to be of good behaviour and to desist from committing crime after serving out his punishment.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Mr Dalhatu Zannah, had told the court that on May 1, one Basil Ekpemandu of Pasty Plaza, Jabi, Abuja, reported the case at Utako Police Station
Zannah said that the convict stole from the complainant one trouser, four shirts, one neck tie, two packet shirts and suits, all valued at N133, 500.
The prosecutor said that all efforts made to recover the goods from Samuel, however, proved abortive.
The prosecutor said that during police investigation, the convict admitted committing the offence, which contravened Section 287 of the Penal Code.
Section 287 of the Penal Code stipulates five years imprisonment for stealing, with an option of fine or both.
