A broken marriage is like a broken egg

A middle-aged woman has begged a court in Ondo State to nullify her 14-year-old marriage due to her husband's high libido.

A middle-aged woman, Foluke Ojo, has begged a Magistrates’ Court sitting in Akure, Ondo State, to dissolve her 14-year-old marriage with her husband, Busuyi Ojo, over his excessive demand for sex.

Foluke told the court that her husband was always in the mood for sex all the time and that she was tired of the constant demand even though he does not take care of the family.

According to Punch Newspaper, the couple who were both in court during the hearing agreed that they were no longer interested in the marriage and such, should be annulled.

Foluke declared that she was no more in love with her husband, asking the court to grant her prayers.

She further alleged that all Ojo wanted was always to have sex and that anytime she refused to have sex with him, he would beat her up.

She further explained that even after beating her, her husband would still go ahead and have sex with her with or without her consent.

“There was a day my husband beat me up. It was my mother that rescued me and took me to a hospital. I am tired of this marriage as he does not take care of me. All he wants is sex all the time,” she said.

But her husband who refuted the allegations leveled against him said his wife was too stubborn and always disobeyed him at home, adding that she did not behave like a responsible wife.

“She dresses like a prostitute; she wears any dress she likes, forgetting that she is a housewife,” he averred.

The husband also urged the court to grant his wife’s request and terminate the marriage and having heard from both sides, the president of the court, Mr. Ayodele Omotola, in his ruling, said the relationship had broken down but urged the parties to allow peace to reign.

Omotola, thereafter, ordered Ojo to pay a sum of N5,000 to the court for the food allowances for their children and adjourned the case for judgment.
