Reddit bans two Alt-Right groups as it tries to take a stance against far-right groups.

Reddit is starting to clamp down on alt-right groups on its site.

The social news website has banned two alt-right subreddits for posting personal and sensitive information which is known as doxing.

The two subreddits r/altright and r/alternativeright which are prominent alt right groups violated Reddit's policy of sharing an individual's personal information with the intent to harass.

There are unconfirmed reports that the man who was doxed was the man who punched Richard Spencer, the poster boy of the alt-right movement.

In a statement, Reddit said "We are very clear in our site terms of service that posting of personal information can get users banned from Reddit and we ask our communities not to post content that harasses or invites harassment.

"We have banned r/altright due to repeated violations of the terms of our content policy. There is no single solution to these issues and we are actively engaging with the Reddit community to improve everyone's experience."

The alt-right which stands for the alternative right is a loose collective of people who discard the beliefs on mainstream conservatism in America. It simple words, members of the alt-right reject what the Republican party believes in.

However, during the last presidential elections in the United States, the alt-right supported Donald Trump because of his polarising statements which had racial and misogynistic undertones.
