No one likes to flop but hey some people and brands do. In 2016, read the top five global flops of the year.

Who took the major Ls in 2016? You won't know if you don't read this list.

In this crazy year, no one or no institution was safe from flopping real bad. This list is a humble pie of who is who in the flopping business.

From Samsung phones to one of the world's biggest social media apps, flops came in thick and fast on a global scale. Below is a list of the top five flops of 2016. They flopped so hard that they are still recovering from.

1) Samsung Phones

Samsung took a major L in 2016 when its phones, the Galaxy Note 7 started blowing up. Batteries of the phones started exploding and Samsung was forced to recall 2.5 million Galaxy Note 7 that has been already sold and halted production.

This setback cost Samsung billions of dollars and its share in the mobile phone market.

2) Democratic Party

The party of Barack Obama not only lost the Presidency in this year's election, it also took a beating in the general elections.

Americans shifted to the Republican party as white middle-class people reacted to 8 years if the Democratic party. It might take the party 4-8 years to recover from the loss.

3) Gary Neville

The former Manchester United legend was a loudmouth critic who flopped in a big way this year. After a string of poor results, Neville was sacked as the coach of Valencia.

Gary Neville embarrassingly went back into punditry and was mocked by players and coach that he has no real practical knowledge of football.

4) Suicide Squad

It was the big hype of 2016. A badass group of anti-heroes are banded together to save the world from some evil scheme. DC Comics enlisted big wigs such as Will Smith, Jared Leto, and Margot Robbie for the movie.

Unfortunately, the movie did not live up to the hype. It yielded a profit in the box office but it did not meet the expectations of fanboys who had been waiting to see a Suicide Squad movie for years.

5) Twitter

Dwindling profits in 2016, saw Twitter stocks tumble. The bad news did not stop there. The tech company announced that Twitter was up for sale. Ideally, Twitter should be a hugely profitable company but for some reason, it hasn't been able to rake in the billions.
