A senior strategy officer with Dangote Industry in charge of negotiating and paying ransom to kidnappers who abduct expatriate staff of the company has been murdered by kidnappers.
After being in the hands of his abductors for three weeks, a Senior Strategist with Dangote Industries Limited, Istifanus Bello Gurama, has been reportedly been murdered by the kidnappers.
Punch reports that the body of the late Gurama body was found inside the gutter where it was dumped after one of the abductors allegedly placed an anonymous call to a member of the deceased’s family on where to find the body.

Sources close to the company said that Gurama who oversaw negotiations and handling of ransom payments to kidnappers whenever any of the expatriates in Dangote Industries was kidnapped, was himself kidnapped after he had gone to negotiate and pay ransom money for the release of one of the expatriates.
But on getting to the den of the bandits, he was reportedly abducted detained.
A close friend of the deceased showed Punch some of the videos of his negotiations with kidnappers in many instances.
Gurama’s wife of 20 years, Amina also spoke glowingly of her late husband:
“Gurama was a lovely person, if he is not in the house one day, the children will be asking after him endlessly.
Now, I do not know what to tell the children because he is always chatting with them on social media and phone and for three weeks since his disappearance, they have been wondering where he was because all his activities on social media ceased and the children have observed that it is quite unlike him.”

When contacted, the Head of Media of the firm, Tony Chiejina said he was surprised at the fate that befell Gurama whom he said was very close to him.
