The Lagos State Commissioner of Police freed the woman during an unplanned visit to Agbowa Police State where she was held.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has ordered the release of a woman alleged to have stolen plantain, also showed his generous side by giving her a sum of N10,000.
According to the Daily Post News, the woman who was identified as 'Iya Ope' said hunger motivated her to steal.
She was arrested with her baby in Agbowa Market, Epe, report says.
Luck smiled on her following an unplanned visit by Owoseni to the Agbowa Police State, who made sure that she and her baby are freed from detainment.

This single act of kindness by the commissioner suggests the police are not always high handed and can be benevolent if need be.
