The accused reportedly collected the sum of N2.8 million from Otunba Williams Kuye, who wanted two acres of land.
Rasaki Shakoto, a 50-year-old man has been arraigned before the Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos for fraudulently taking a sum of N2.8m from a land buyer.
The buyer, Otunba Williams Kuye, was promised two acres of land for the amount which was paid in June 2013.
For his role in the alleged scam, the accused has been slammed with a three-count of fraud, stealing and breach of peace, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
Inspector Ibrahim Haruna, the prosecutor in the case said “the accused knew that the representation he made to Kuye was false”.

His crime contravened Sections 166 (d), 285 and 312 (a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011, according to the prosecutor.
Martins Owumi, the court magistrate, approved a bail in the sum of N500, 000 for the accused who pleaded not guilty to the charges.
