The Lagos State Police Command has mounted a manhunt for a UK deportee for allegedly stabbing his parents, leaving the father dead.
A drug addict who was deported from the United Kingdom, Babalola Rotimi Jnr., has been declared wanted by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly murdering his father, Babatunde Rotimi Snr., as well as stabbing his mother.
Punch reports that the incident happened at the family’s home at the Magodo Phase 2 GRA in the state after the suspect killed his father and injured his mother identified as Adijat, following an argument.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Dolapo Badmos, who confirmed the incident, said Babalola who was recently deported from the UK following his addiction, fled the scene of the crime and has remained elusive.
The mother, it was gathered, had been in a coma since the attack on Sunday, December 5, 2016, and was receiving treatment in a general hospital in the state.
It was learned that Babalola who is popularly called Junior, had been living with his parents on Ibitayo Street, Magodo, after returning from the UK.
The parents had reportedly got him an apartment in the Ketu, Ikosi area, where he relocated to but a day to the incident, he had reportedly paid a visit to his parents and stayed over till Sunday when he committed the dastardly act.
A security guard on the estate explained that Junior fled after he had killed his father and left his mother for dead.
“Most of the security guards on the estate were not around and many residents had gone to church. By the time we returned, we heard a noise from the woman’s room as she cried out for help.
We rushed there and met her in a pool of blood. She had been stabbed in the cheek and even in the eye area. There was a lot of blood in the house. We took her to the emergency centre in the Ojota area.”
A family source added that the runaway suspect had arrived in the house on Saturday.
“The man just returned from the United Kingdom and we observed that he was always alone. He was living with his parents until recently when they got him an apartment in Ikosi, Ketu.”
“But on Saturday, he came to pay them a visit and he slept over. He had an argument with the father that morning and he stabbed him to death. When the mother tried to intervene, he also stabbed her.”
It was also reported that after stabbing his parents, Junior left the house but came back after some minutes to check if they were completely dead. He then shut the door against them before fleeing the area.
