A 31-year-old man who raped a 19-year-old girl and recorded the act on video faces a long jail term in found guilty.
A 31-year-old man, Kingsley Benjamin, has been dragged before an Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrates' Court sitting in Lagos for allegedly video-recording himself while raping a 19-year-old lady with a view to using the video to silence her from telling anyone.

Punch reports that Benjamin is facing a two-count of obscenity and rape, for the offenses he committed on September 20, 2016,+ at 9, Unity Avenue, Etebi, in the Ajangbandi area of state.
According to police prosecutor, Inspector Cousin Adams, the accused had forcefully had unlawful sexual intercourse with the girl and recorded the act on his phone.
The offenses, which contravenes Sections 149(1) (2) and 258 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Section 149 (1) (2), carries a fine of fine of N450, 000 or three years imprisonment or both if found guilty while Section 258 prescribes life imprisonment for rape.

However, when the charges were read to him, Benjamin pleaded not guilty to the charges and the Magistrate, Helen Omisore, granted him bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum, while adjourning the case till November 7 for a mention.
