An illegal factory that makes police uniforms and other paraphernalia has been discovered tucked in the Police College in Ikeja.
An illegal police uniform factory has been discovered tucked inside the Police College by the Lagos State Police Command, where apparels and other accessories are produced and sold.

Vanguard reports that the illegal factory, run by some fraudulent police officers, was discovered by eagle-eyed officers attached to the X-Squad of the command, headed by Bode Fakeye, following a tip-off.
Four women, among them two nursing mothers were arrested in connection with the factory after the State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, ordered a clamp down on suspected perpetrators of the illegal act.
Several police uniforms with different ranks, badges, belts, boots cardigans, caps and force numbers were recovered from the suspects while investigations are ongoing to ascertain whether the force numbers were authentic or not.
The arrested suspects, during interrogation, admitted to being workers in the factory but declined to name their buyers and sponsors.

The Command's Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Dolapo Badmus, has confirmed the development and the arrest of the suspects and said:
“The CP ordered the officer-in-charge of X-Squad to investigate after the case was referred to us from the Police High Command, Abuja.
When he finally investigated and found out that it was true, the CP ordered the arrest of the suspects and seizure of the materials.”
