The suspect is facing a two-count charge of breach of peace and assault for his offence against the police officer.
The Apapa Magistrates’ Court, Lagos has arraigned a man, Tunde Ajani, who reportedly beat up a police officer.
Ajani, who was slammed with a two-count charge of breach of peace and assault was brought before the court on Wednesday, October 26, 2016.
He committed the offence on September 9, 2016 at Layeni Police Station, Ojo Road, Ajegunle-Apapa, Lagos, a police prosecutor, Kokoye Olusegun told the court.
The officer assaulted was identified as Paul Okonkwo, who had his uniform pulled by the accused. He then proceeded to punching him in the face.

According to Olusegun, “The complainant said he was trying to explain an issue concerning the conduct of the accused to him, when he got angry and started rough handling him."
M.A Etti, a Senior Magistrate on the case however granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case has been adjourned till November 4, 2016 for further hearing.
