Damian Marley expands his marijuana business in America as more opportunities open up for the growing industry.
Damian Marley, 38, the Reggae singer who shook the world with his 2005 album 'Welcome to Jamrock', and his collaborative album 'Distant Relatives' with Nas in 2010 is setting up shop in a new business.
Damian who is the son of late legendary singer Bob Marley is about to turn a 77,000 square foot California State prison into a marijuana farm. The farm will help grow medicinal marijuana for dispensaries in the state.
Jr. Gong as he is also called is partnering with Ocean Grown Extract on this venture. In September, he opened a 3,000-square-foot dispensary in Denver, Colorado.
Of course, the Marley family name is synonymous with cannabis. Continuing with the tradition, Damian Marley back in February joined other family members to start their own strain of marijuana aptly called Marley Natural.

The marijuana business in America is beginning to open up. If Proposition 64 is passed in November then the recreational use of marijuana will be allowed in California.
"I didn’t know it would happen this way. This was definitely something we were working towards for a long time, before I was even born.
There was Peter Tosh’s ‘Legalize It’ and songs like that — this is something our culture has been working towards. I was optimistic that it would one day be legal — and now it is here" Marley told Billboard magazine this month.
In June 2016, Seun Kuti hung out with Damian Marley and the two musicians shared a joint of weed.
