Mr Fati Owoseni has revealed the efforts of the Lagos state police command to curtail corrupt and unprofessional conducts within the force.
About 65 policemen have reportedly been arrested by the 'Anti-Extortionist Squad' in different parts of the Lagos State in the last month over various offences.

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Mr Fatai Owoseni revealed that the arrests were carried out in compliance with a directive issued by the Inspector-General of Police on zero tolerance to corruption and unprofessional conduct within the force.
Owoseni added that the squad arrested 33 officers as of August 8, 12 others as of August 24 and another 20 by September 8.
”Some of them have been recommended for dismissal; some to be demoted in ranks. Those involved in unlawful killing have been charged to court for murder.
”Some others are undergoing departmental orderly room trials. There is no place for corrupt and unprofessional police in Lagos command,” he said.
Owoseni disclosed that he has embarked on re-orientation and retraining as part of their efforts to keep to the ethics of the force in the state.
According to the CP, 75 constables have gone through training in handling of arms at the Ikeja Police College, in a bid to check accidental discharge.

He concluded that the actions of the officers would be accounted for while stressing that the second batch of the training would be organised soon.
