Officers of the Enugu state command have apprehended six notorious bandits known for terrorising the residents of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of the state.
Six notorious bandits known for terrorising the residents of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State have been arrested by the State Police Command.

The spokesman for the command, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, disclosed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that locally made guns and two short axes had been recovered from the bandits.
Mr Amaraizu said that amongst other items recovered were TV sets, DVDs, standing fans, six mobile phones, all of which are suspected to have been stolen from victims.
He added that the gang was picked up by the police following a tip from some members of the public.
“The police operatives in Adani Division in the early hours of Saturday, Sept. 10 nabbed six notorious armed bandits.
“They have been terrorising the residents of Opanda, Nimbo and Adani communities in Uzo-Uwani LGA of the state and its environs.
“Suspects, name withheld, are helping the police in their investigations in relations to their alleged nefarious activities.
“Their activities ranges from armed robbery and burglary among others,’’ he said.
Meanwhile, Mr Amaraizu revealed that the command has now begun a manhunt for the remaining members of the gang.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu, applauded the effort of his command as well as the cooperation between the police and members of the community.
