A man has been arrested by the NDLEA at the MMIA with abusive substance with street value to the tune of N31m.
The arrest of a man apprehended with drugs valued at N31 million has been reported by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.

The suspect was nabbed today, September 14, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos with parcels of methamphetamine.
The disclosure was made via a statement which revealed that the suspect was arrested while going through the outward screening of passengers on a South African Airline flight headed to Johannesburg.
The statement read:
“The parcels of drug tested positive as methamphetamine and weighed 3.435 kg with a street value of N31m.
“The drug was detected during a routine check on a passenger on South African Airline flight to South Africa.
“Two bags belonging to a 45-year-old man (names withheld), were found to contain parcels of methamphetamine.
“Inside the bags were food items, ingredients and clothes, but underneath were a thin parcel of narcotics carefully concealed.
“He was immediately arrested; the investigation is ongoing.”

The agency added that the suspect who is based in South Africa claimed that the bags containing the drugs were given to him by a friend.
The Chairman, NDLEA, Mr Muhammad Abdallah, warned members of the public to be vigilant and avoid new tricks employed by drug trafficking cartels.
