After 11 years as its Editor0In-Chief, co-founder of Huffington Post, Ariana Huffington has moved on to other innovative venture.
Readers of the popular Huffington Post have been dealt a big blow after the co-funder of the news website known for its liberal views, Arianna Huffington, has decided to step down after 11 years as the Editor-in-Chief.

According to Huffington in a press release announcing her decision, she will leave the site to run another new venture, Thrive Global, which she sees as a corporate and consumer well-being and productivity platform.
The 66-year-old versatile journalist, added she thought HuffPost would be her last act but the urge to try her hands on something new was just too much for her to resist. Thrive Global is described as a project designed to combat workplace burnout.
Ms Huffington has taken the Post to an enviable height with over 81 million monthly unique visitors since its launching on May 9, 2005.
The Huffington Post which has been pulling together liberal-leaning news reports, and as an alternative to conservative news aggregators, was jointly launched by Ms Huffington and American businessman, Kenneth Lerer, and other investors, with the site offering news, blogs, and original features, and covers politics, lifestyle, and entertainment.
Huffington was born Arianna Stassinopoulos in Athens in 1950 and left her native country to study economics at Cambridge University, where she became president of the Cambridge Union.

She moved to America and in 1986 and married Texas oil billionaire, Michael Huffington. She played a major role in his election to the US House of Representatives in 1992 as a Republican candidate and in his failed bid for a Senate seat two years later.
