The suspects were arrested on August 19 and 20 at the Holy Ghost park and P$T area of the state by officers of the central police station of the Enugu state police command.

The statement issued by the Enugu State police command disclosed that the suspects identified as Obi Ejike from Ubaho Okija in Ihiala local Government Area of Anambra state, Kuku Mary from Ijebuode Ogun state, Oluwakemi Joy from Ojo, Lagos State, Nwosu Chizoba from Umunze in Anambra state and Peter Uchechi from Ebonyi state were arrested while on their way to another church in Abakaliki to join the syndicate.

The reports reveal that confusion had broken out among the suspects leading to arguments which subsequently attracted the attention of police officers around the scene who upon inquiries discovered that the suspects were involved in dubious activities, trailed and arrested them.

One of the suspects, Uchechi, revealed that they were recruited in large numbers and housed in Onitsha, from where they are shuttled to various states in the country to confirm prophecies and that they received their payments through their coordinator.

She explained that she would join a given congregation and when the pastor called a particular problem, she would come out and confirm his prophecy, after which she would be touched and she falls, seemingly under an anointing, after which the pastor says she has received her healing.

"Some Pastors use us to grow their church/ministry and we are paid later through our coordinator depending your role."
