The suspect identified as Delight Arinze Okorie who is reportedly a pastor at the Watered Ground Ministry in Atta Nnenasa in Njaba Council Area of Imo State, is reported to have confessed to the crime, blaming his actions on the devil.
A Pastor has according to reports, been arrested and charged with the attempted murder of one of his female church members.

The suspect identified as Delight Arinze Okorie who is reportedly a pastor at the Watered Ground Ministry in Atta Nnenasa in Njaba Council Area of Imo State, is reported to have confessed to the crime, blaming his actions on the devil.
Okorie is reported to have convinced his victim identified as Miss Chioma Oleka, that she was being troubled by marine spirits which he had to cast out to enable her fulfill her destiny.
The suspect reportedly lured Miss Oleka to a river where he planned to exorcise her of the marine spirits, unknown to the victim that he planned to kill her and make away with her SUV.
The Imo state police command spokesperson, Mr. Andrew Enwerem, disclosed that while the purported deliverance session had been ongoing, the pastor allegedly pushed Miss Oleka into the river intending to drown her.
Okorie had later gone into the car, bringing with him a machete with which he allegedly inflicted several injuries on the victim after it became obvious that she would survive.
Mr Enwerem went on to add that Miss Oleka had passed out during the attack, with Okorie making of with her SUV with registration number: Rivers KPR 243 HF, believing her to be dead.
Policemen attached to the Nwangele division who had been on routine patrol on that fateful day, discovered the victim and rushed her to the hospital where she was later revived.

The PPRO also revealed that Okorie was subsequently arrested at Orlu in possession of Miss Oleka's SUV, adding that the suspect would be charged to court soon and is now facing charges of attempted robbery and theft.
