A cook has been arraigned in court for poisoning food meant for his boss' guest.
A 25-year-old cook, Anthony Adomaya, has been arraigned before a Tinubu Magistrates' Court sitting in Lagos State, for allegedly poisoning the food meant for a guest of his boss, Vanguard reports.

Adomaya appeared before Magistrate Ade Adefulire, where he faced a two-count charge bordering on attempted poisoning, for the offence allegedly committed on July 19, at his employer's residence at Justice Court, Lekki.
The police prosecutor, Ben Ekundayo, told the court that Adomaya was told by his employer to prepare a meal for a guest but the cook allegedly poured a liquid substance suspected to be poison on the food.
“After the accused served the food which had an offensive odour, he fled the house and later came back in the middle of the night to pack his belongings but he was caught and arrested,” Ekundayo said, adding that the offences contravened Sections 241 and 404 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

When the charges were read to Adomaya, he denied the charges and Adefulire, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000, with two sureties in like sum, who must be blood relations, while the case was adjourned till July 13 for further hearing.
