Shocking: 27-year-old man kills twin brother in his sleep

According to reports, the pair had celebrated together before the sad incident, when they purchased a new generator set.

A man identified as Mfom John, has pulled up a shocking display by stabbing his twin brother, Israel John, while he was sleeping.

The incident happened in the Somolu area of Lagos State, where the deceased was reported to have been stabbed more than 70 times.

According to Punch, Mfom made good of his threat to kill Israel, though no immediate reason can be linked to his attack on his brother, whom he danced with on the evening of Sunday, May 15, 2016.

After committing the crime, Mfom went straight to their uncle, who lived close by that his brother, Israel, had sustained serious injuries resulting from a fight.

Christopher, a third occupant of their apartment, who was in the kitchen when Mfom killed his brother, refuted his claim.

He pointed to Mfom as the culprit of the crime while he was being interrogated by the police, report says.

A neighbour of the brothers, Bidemi, said that Mfom and Christopher had both celebrated together after they purchased a new generator on Sunday.

Bidemi said, “The room where they stayed was formerly occupied by their elder brother, and he passed it on to his sister. The sister, after living there for some years, passed it to them.

“The two brothers were working in a restaurant owned by their brother in the Abiodun area. While Mfom cooked the food, Israel washed the plates.

“On Sunday when they returned from work, they had a party to celebrate a new generator they bought. Around 6am on Monday, while Israel was sleeping, Mfom got a knife and stabbed him all over the body. At a particular spot, he stabbed him more than 15 times. There were more than 70 stab wounds on him.”

SP Dolapo Badmos, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident, stating that the case has been transferred to the State Crimiminal Investigation Department.
